Artbox Sorcerer's Stone Set: Have Your Say!

Dear Artbox,We would like to bring to your attention the concerns we have with your upcoming release of the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's (Philosopher's) Stone Trading Card Set.
First let us mention that as collectors we have been really impressed with the quality of your two Harry Potter card sets and have spent many hours admiring and actively seeking them.
However, it is in this context that we were also very disappointed with your last release of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Update cards - both dealers and collectors who bought boxes and cases of the product have felt let down in many respects.
One major criticism we have had with both sets is that a good deal of Hobby boxes were "duds" i.e. there were no props, costumes, autographs or film cards in them. No other card manufacturer has so many problems with dud boxes - finding a "dud box" is very rare in Topps cards and manufacturers such as Inkworks and Rittenhouse guarantee that you will receive something in each box. At $60 per box in the US and 45 per box in the UK it is unacceptable to get one to two base sets and a few foil cards.
The collation problems extended to the cases. There were far too many cases that contained no autographs or no props. While we can understand that this will happen occasionally, and not every box or case will have inserts exactly meeting the specified odds, it was far too prevalent for collectors to ignore.
We also find it unnerving that there is a lack of information about the details of the sets prior to release. We appreciate that you may wish to "surprise" us, but when dealers and collectors are putting out a great deal of money upfront, it seems better to have some reliable information on insert cards and ratios from an accountable source. Perhaps such information could be published on your website? Many other successful card manufacturers work this way -- for example take a look at Inkworks (www.inkworks.com) and Rittenhouse's (www.scifihobby.com) websites. You will see that they publish pictures and insert ratios for all their cards, well in advance of a release (a month or more), along with some indication of how many cases will be produced and the rarity of the autographs.
We encourage you, as other card companies do - to let the customers know what to expect.
Would this be too much to ask given how much money we've already spent on your products and intend to spend in the future?
Yours,
The Undersigned

I support the petition and all it's meaning.   |

I will need more information on this new set before I buy any more boxes. I was disappointed with the last set, especially with the high number of cases produced.   |

I was wary coming into this set due to the large production numbers and hesitated on buying a case as planned. Unfortunately I was correct - as with many others, inserts were not found in their proper quantities and pulling a decent card was well beyond most collectors. For the next set, could you please at least consider putting in more insert cards or lower the insert:production run ratio. I also do not think that update sets for every series is necessary, its a waste of ideas that you could save for future releases. Thank you for your time and consideration on this matter.   |

It's really true, more early information is absolutely necessary.   |

Despite only buying seven boxes of Prisoner of Azkaban Update, I also strongly believe more detailed information should have been unveiled prior to the release. Overall, I hope the consumers reaction from any of your previous releases will, of course, serve as a chance to further improve future releases!   |

2 Cases from the Update Set contains NO Props, No Autos, No Creature Card and No Film Cells. Only Foils and Costume Cards. I never got reply from the costumer service.   |

The loose boxes were from the First Harry Potter POA set and the cases were from the Update set. The total number of dud boxes was seven (7). Unless Artbox plans to guarantee one (1) special card (costume, prop, auto) per sealed box, I will not be purchasing any boxes or cases.   |

I had a great experience opening the Prisoner of Azkaban product. But, I will hold off in pre-ordering boxes of the Sorceror's Stone set until more information is revealed.   |

I have visited your website. It is woefully, woefully, out of date. I have e-mailed a request to the sale department for wholesale price information and received no response. It must be nice to have so much business you can turn it away. It would be nice to be able get the product at true wholesale prices for resale.   |

After the poor breakdown of my update cases, I was extremely disapoointed in the set. In the first set it was likely to get several great cards from a case. In the update set, you were lucky if you met the odds, which wasn't likely.   |

While I love the cards themselves in my opinion not enough information is released BEFORE the product releases...
I think as comsumers, dealers we should know the production numbers (cases made) , what inserts are inserted, what the checklist is , what the cards look like and the various insertion odds well before the product releases ...
That is my biggest complaint about Artbox --
the utter lack of information --
Getting more info out there early ,again in my opinion, can only help promote your product but show people exactly what is available and what it will look like ..
Keeping customers in the dark is never good ..

I am extremely interested in purchasing several cases of Harry Potter cards in the future. I have been very satisfied with the quality of the Artbox Harry Potter cards to date, but have been dissatisfied with the amount of information and statistics that the company is willing to make public. Certainly if Artbox were to provide more detailed information on these products, I would feel much more comfortable purchasing them.   |

One dud box and only three autos from two cases.   |
