Ben Folds Concert! (16/06/2005)  (June 21st, 2005)
Well here it is. I finally managed to get to a Ben Folds concert and it was GREAT! Apologies in advance for the darkness of the pictures, but the lights weren't very bright and the flash just didn't reach all the way to the stage. Anyway, I'll know for the future to sit to the center left of the stage, as I couldn't see much of his face due to a clonking great piano in the way!! Never mind, I got some great pics when he left the piano seat. What I love about Ben Folds is the level of audience participation he has! He gets the audience to sing along in lots of songs, like Underground, and even tutors them into doing harmonies in Army and Not The Same. The photos of him crouching and standing on the piano are action shots when at the end of Not The Same the whole audience sings in three part harmony Aaaaa-AAAAAA... you'll know what I'm talking about if you've listened to the album Ben Folds Live :) After the show we hung around to meet Ben but he didn't show up. I think he might have been a little steamed about the security being so low - near the end some idiot stormed onto the stage and plonked his cap on Ben while he was playing! We did get to meet Jared (the bassist) and Lindsay (the drummer) though, which was awesome!

CollectorMania 7 (2005)  (April 30th, 2005)
This Spring's CollectorMania brought us the usual fare of celebs just waiting to be descended upon for autographs and photos. We met up with a friend, Thanh, from the forum and 'did' the show together!

Beverly Knight Concert  (April 10th, 2005)
Having got the concert bug after Natasha Bedingfield (and to fill in the gap between then and Ben Folds in June) we decided to go and see Beverly Knight. And jolly good she was too! Great album, of which she sung most songs, plus a few from past albums. She has a strong voice and a good stage presence. Between every song she thanked us profusely for our applause which was very nice at first but it got a bit old the fifteenth time and started to sound a little bit insincere... but we both enjoyed ourselves a lot!

Memorabilia April 2005  (April 2nd, 2005)
A great weekend out in Birmingham at the Memorabilia show! We stayed with Chris and Joy Chidgey and helped out a bit on their stall. And I totally wrecked a Warren Martinez sketch card to draw my own Star Wars interpretation on it. Never mind, it wasn't worth anything, anyway!

UK Web and Mini Comics Thing 2005  (March 19th, 2005)
This was a fun little convention which I attended, although I didn't take too many photos... I met Jonti Picking (of Weebl & Bob / Magical Trevor / Badger, Badger, Badger fame), James Turner of Beaver and Steve and plenty more!

Natasha Bedingfield Concert  (March 8th, 2005)
On the 8th March we went to a concert by Natasha Bedingfield (and band) and it was greatness all over! If you like Natasha's music (which I do) then you will love her in concert. Energetic, fun and of course louder than life :)

Skating at Somerset House  (January 22nd, 2005)
Early this year we went skating on the temporary ice rink at Somerset House in London. It was a blast!
