Heroes
Posted on 08/08/2007 at 22:38:24 by MakTheYakI know I'm pretty much in the last bunch of people to watch this but Heroes (now showing on BBC2) is awesome. I'm really getting into the story and the characters are great! You know it's a good show when in the moments of realisation or just where another piece of the jigsaw slots into place you start getting goose bumps all over! I really recommend watching it to anyone with a passing interest in fiction and good telly. If you've missed the first few then you could always download them (although I didn't tell you to do that). Not sure if the BBC's iPlayer is in the hands of the public yet but that would be a good way to catch up too!
Edit: I checked... you can't get it yet. Patience, it will be yours!
Don't worry, I didn't forget today - Marmaduke and the gang get an unexpected visitor!
Well that lasted about as long as a freebie in freshers week...
Posted on 07/08/2007 at 21:03:39 by MakTheYakI shouldn't go setting myself challenges like that. As the observant among you will have noticed I totally missed out yesterday's strip. No excuses - I just forgot. But to make up for it I'll put two on tonight.

What is it about Friends? I'm not talking about your mates I'm talking about the insanely popular TV show. How is it still funny? I must have seen each episode at LEAST 4 or 5 times yet still when I watch the repeats I find myself laughing embarrassingly loudly (well it would be embarrassing if I knew my neighbours. As it is I'm just the loud laughing man next door). I know the jokes but it's still hilarious! Maybe it's just the excellent acting or the ridiculous situations... whatever it is it's brilliant. I hope they never stop showing it!
Hot hot hot!
Posted on 05/08/2007 at 14:23:44 by MakTheYakWow... the weather! It's kind of hot! I genuinely thought we'd make it through the whole summer without me having to get the fan out (good thing too - it takes up too much room and its presence means I'm likely to be hot and uncomfortable) but right now I'm starting to think I might have to. Still, I know a lot of people that will be happy about it so I shouldn't complain.
In fact, instead of complaining I should post a link to today's Marmaduke strip. Let's see if I can keep this up all through the week!
Haibane Renmei
Posted on 04/08/2007 at 21:58:25 by MakTheYakI've been enjoying Haibane Renmei recently and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes animation. It's quite delightful and the artistic direction is fantastic. It was recommended to me as being similar in style to Studio Ghibli films which I can see in many respects.
The pace of it is exploratory - maybe a little slow for some tastes but there are recurring themes of mystery about certain things that drive interest in addition to the unfolding story of a new-born Haibane (angel-like creature) as she tries to fit in with the others and find her place in society. If you get the chance please give it a try!
Also you might well be expecting a new Marmaduke strip. And you'd be right to! I'm going to try my best to make them daily updates until they're all up there. Wish me luck!
Happy Friday!
Posted on 02/08/2007 at 23:59:06 by MakTheYakJust to celebrate the end of the week, how about another Marmaduke strip? You like? Stay tuned for more. Enjoy your weekend!
Edit: And here's another!
